Multiplication as addition on an empty number line – step 3

In this step we are again multiplying a two digit number by a single digit.  To succeed we need to partition the two digit number into tens and units and record each step as a jump on the empty number line. In this stage we are asking the children to mentally multiply by ten and by any single digit. Their understanding of their tables is becoming increasingly important.
